Wananeko is a yokai cat. He was abandoned when he was a baby and even though he tried to get help, no- body seemed to want to adopt him. For this reason, he was forced to live in the streets, facing all kinds of danger and evil creatures.
Even though he grew strong, eventually he succumbed to the streets. In that moment, his resentment for the humans who abandoned him was so strong that it turned him into a powerful yokai.
Wananeko can transform parts of his body, or even his whole body into objects or creatures, and he uses these abilities to trick humans by turning into a basket and making kitty noises in people’s front doors. When a human opens the door to see that’s happening, Wananeko transforms back in his original shape and scares them.
